Edmund Aundra "Ed" Rost, age 85, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 5:01 pm in Blessing Hospital.
He was born on July 7, 1939, in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Albert Roy and Mildred Loretta "Millie" Leckbee Rost. Ed was married several times, including to his first wife Barb, who preceded him in death. He married Nancy Mathes Zimmerman on June 30, 2012. She survives.
Ed was a graduate of Quincy High School. He had a 35 year career at Baker's Supermarket in Omaha, Nebraska, and retired as a supervisor. After his retirement, he returned to Quincy and was employed by the Quincy Public Schools at the Bus Barn, where he was a rider, until he retired.
He was an avid football and baseball fan, passionately cheering on his Nebraska Cornhuskers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Ed found joy in the simple pleasure of fishing.
