Dorothy "Jean" Arp, 97, of Quincy, died peacefully January 22, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.Born August 27, 1927, Jean was a daughter of Matthew J. and Agatha (Kohl) Ehrhart. She married Harry J. Arp June 14, 1947, in St. Francis Catholic Church, in Quincy. He preceded her in death.Jean was a 1945 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at O'Dells jewelry store in Quincy for several years until she and Harry began their family. Jean then became bookkeeper and "office manager" of Arp Brothers Plastering Co., while raising five daughters. As the girls grew older, Jean spent 18 years in special education transportation with the Quincy Public Schools.Beginning in 1984, Jean volunteered at Blessing Hospital for 40 years in various capacities. She was the buyer for the Blessing Tea Room and later volunteered in the cardiac care unit, a position she loved.
