Tonya Marie McKee, 50, of Indian Head Park, IL, passed away at 12:15 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Briar Place Nursing Home in Indian Head Park, IL.
A private family graveside will take place at a later date in Nokomis Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis, IL.
Tonya was born April 14, 1974, in Springfield, IL, to Gerald and Julitta (Schneider) McKee.
Tonya is survived by her mother, Julitta East (Floyd) of Quincy, IL; her brother, Ryan McKee (Bobbie Jo) of Winchester, IL; her nephew, Donovan Lewis od Decatur, IL; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tonya was preceded in death by her father; two sisters, Hannah McKee, and Erin Lewis; her paternal grandparents, Robert, and Mary McKee; and her maternal grandparents, Andrew, and Darlene Schneider.
Tonya was a 1992 graduate of Waverly High School and went on to receiver her BA from the University of Dayton, and then furthered her education at Boston University. She enjoyed playing flute in band and played on the softball and volleyball team
